5 WAYS TO INSPIRE CREATIVITY

Do you realize that you have infinite creativity available to you whenever you desire it?

I know many of us struggle with bouts of being stuck! Right? We have a deadline for some creative project and we sit staring at our paper or screen waiting for some genius of creativity to spring forth and the more it doesn’t the more frustrated we become.

We have all been there many times.

Creativity needs to flow without stress or hindrance. So, for example, when we are trying to create, we want to make sure we have set up our space to encourage creativity to flow.

If we are stressed going in, we will have a much harder time allowing the inspiration to appear on paper or screen. So, what do you do? Get prepared. Turn off all distractions around you and take some of these simple ways to get your inspiration flowing.

Well, here are some simple ways to allow creativity to break free again…

 Take a break, yes, stop trying to bring that creativity forth.

Get up and do something totally different. Stretch, drink a big glass of water, sing, make a call to someone and uplift them.

When we break the momentum of staring at a screen feeling anxious, we allow fresh new ideas to come to us.

We can easily get bogged down trying too hard to bring creativity to our projects and get frustrated.

Just get up and take a short break and you will find you have changed the energy and watch how that creative energy flows.

 

 Do something that is creative on its own self. Dance!

When you free form dance it changes the chemistry throughout your body, releases endorphins, those feel-good hormones.

Just get up, turn on the tunes and let go of your ‘stuckness’ and allow for creativity to flow more freely.

Dance like nobody’s watching!

You will find that more creativity starts to flow as you let go and enjoy.

 

 Go outside! Nature resets the body and mind!

Nature restores mental functioning in the same way that food and water restore bodies.

Being in nature has a profound impact on our brains and our behavior, helping us to reduce anxiety and stress, and increase our attention capacity and release creativity.

The next time you are struggling to bring some of your ideas to fruition, spend some time in nature… It may be better spent than sitting in front of a screen being frustrated to come up with the creative solution you are looking for.

 

 Take some time to Daydream. Daydreaming isn’t a waste of time.

New findings in neuropsychology show that flashes of insight often come when our minds are relaxed and not focused on stressful things.

This is because when you daydream, your mind travels through different parts of your brain and collects information. These connections often end up being the beginnings of new and creative ideas!

So, take some time to close your eyes and dream of those things that make you smile.

Sit under a tree and watch the cloud formations as you conjure up magical creatures in their puffs and swirls.

Daydreaming feels good and shifts our minds into a positive, happy place.

 

 Take 10 minutes to practice gratitude.

When we start to project outwards, the rewards come inwards.

Start off by just saying as many things as you can that you are grateful for, like the toilet paper, the lunch you just ate and the farmers who grew your food to the chair that you are sitting on.

Practicing gratitude changes brain chemistry and allows for us to connect to divine inspiration much more easily.

Gratitude can be practiced anywhere, anytime. Take a few minutes to cultivate your shift in creativity.
